A Short Biography on Marilyn

Marilyn Flores was born and raised in San Diego California where the sun is always shining. She is the 3rd of 5 children. When she was about 9 years old when the saddest moment in her life occurred. She lost her home and became homeless. It was her mother, her brother who is 1 year older than her and her baby sister. They struggled very much and had to go from shelter to shelter. It was about 6 different ones in 2 years. Marilyn had been homeless for quite a while and has also been going to the summit schools since she was in 4th grade. She was sad because she felt like she never got to live a normal childhood. When she became a teenager she didn’t really mind as much, she made some friends and now they are like family to her. She didn’t feel so bad because there were others who were in the same situation as her. Marilyn finished elementary, her freshman year, her sophomore year and her junior year in the summit schools and right now she is in the process of finishing her senior year at Lindsay. She is very close and she is not giving up.

Marilyn is currently 7 months pregnant with a baby girl. She will be blessed with an angel on the 3rd of February. Marilyn has made some goals for herself. She is currently living with her boyfriend who is also the father of the baby that Marilyn is expecting. The goals that Marilyn has made for herself are to finish high school and also to hoping to get a job before her baby is born and of course after she is done with school. Marilyn visits her mother every now and then. Her mother is once again living in a shelter but his time is with Marilyn’s little brother who is 6 years old and her sister who is now 8 years old. It’s heartbreaking for Marilyn to see them where they are at but it’s the only place that can help them, for now. Her 2 older brothers are currently living together with roommates they still keep in touch with Marilyn but they don’t get to talk very often.

After high school Marilyn plans to take care of her baby by supporting her in getting a job. The father will help but they will need all the income they can get. They are planning on renting a house or apartment and buying a car as soon as they have enough money saved up for them to do that. They are not planning on staying with their roommates for a long time. Marilyn’s boyfriend will still be working, he has 2 jobs and he is hoping for it to stay that way. Marilyn is also planning to go to college when her baby is little older. She will get the help of her mother and her mother-in-law to watch over their baby while they are at work or in school.
